Our sustainability vision
As a research-, science- and data-driven organization, FM embraces solving problems and creating innovative solutions for our clients. In partnership with our clients and colleagues, we recognize our potential to increase resilience in the communities where we work and live, and around the world.
Resilience has been part of our DNA since our founding nearly 200 years ago. It’s only natural that it plays a key role in our Sustainability vision: Resilience Is for Everyone.
Sustainability focus areas
To bring our Sustainability vision to life, we established four focus areas that reflect our values and support our efforts to make a lasting difference. Together, they form the foundation of our strategic approach to Sustainability.
These focus areas are:
1) Strengthening communities
Drive positive socioeconomic outcomes for vulnerable communities through strategic partnerships and collaborations that leverage our unique expertise, data and resources.
2) Countering climate change
Apply and expand our science-based knowledge and solutions to enable adaptation to and protection against climate risks while reducing our own impact to the environment.
3) Accelerating the renewables ecosystem
Advance the renewables industry through research and innovation and support the transition to alternative energy.
4) Empowering employees to thrive
Deepen our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and the well-being of our people to fully realize our purpose and generate positive impact for broader society.
